  • Bobcat Celebrates The 60th Anniversary Of Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader

This year Bobcat celebrates the 60th Anniversary of Bobcat skid-steer loader. Sixty years ago, Melroe Manufacturing Company, the forerunner to Bobcat Company, introduced a compact front-end loader that evolved quickly into the M-400, the world’s first true skid-steer loader. The M-400 later adopted what became the world famous ‘Bobcat’ brand and its success created the global compact equipment industry we know today.

Over the last sixty years, Bobcat has gone through many changes, but one thing has not changed: Bobcat’s commitment to outstanding quality, workmanship and innovation that has helped to maintain its market leadership, so that one in every two skid-steer loaders sold is still a Bobcat machine. Bobcat products have changed the way the world works and today the Bobcat brand and influence is as strong as ever.

In 2018, the range of compact loaders including skid-steer, compact track and all-wheel steer models that Bobcat has developed over the last six decades, continues to dominate the market, combined with a host of attachments to meet every specific customer’s needs. Bobcat has also diversified its portfolio with a full line-up of compact excavators and telehandlers that match the same tough internal requirements on reliability and productivity that Bobcat applies to the company’s loaders.

  • Company Says 2019 Production Run Already Sold Out

Bobcat announced that the first of the company’s new E10e zero tail swing (ZTS) 1 tonne battery-powered mini-excavators has come off the production line at the Bobcat compact equipment manufacturing plant at Dobris in the Czech Republic.

Finished at 1:08 pm on 11th July 2019, the first E10e off the line has the Serial Number B4KL11001. It is headed to the Netherlands to the Authorised Bobcat Dealer, Apeldoorn-based Inter-Techno, where it will be used as a demo machine and is available for hire from Inter-Techno’s partner company, 123Machineverhuur.

Doosan Bobcat has chosen the Dobris factory to produce the E10e for all markets worldwide, with the first machines to be sold in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), with North America and then Asian markets to follow. The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Norway are the first to be selected in Europe, in line with research that shows the highest demand is in these countries. Subsequent sales of the E10e in other countries will depend on the readiness of markets, dealers and the demand from customers.

  • Shearforce Equipment Picks Up Where Terrafirma Left Off In Northern Alberta

ShearForce Equipment and key former employees of TerraFirma Equipment has announced that they are joining forces in northern Alberta to provide sales, rentals, parts, and repair and maintenance services for hydraulic excavator attachments. They are not only expanding their regional support capacity across northern Alberta, but also the product lines they can service and repair. The news comes following the announcement of the closure of Terrafirma Equipment Sales and Rentals Inc. in Edmonton, a long-standing equipment dealer with more than 50 years of dedication and experience in servicing their rental and sales customers across northern Alberta. With the opening of their new sales and service center in Airdrie, Alberta, this past July, the move cements ShearForce as Western Canada’s hydraulic attachment specialists, now offering local on-the-ground support across BC and Alberta.

Three familiar faces from Terrafirma have joined the ShearForce team in northern Alberta to ensure Terrafirma’s current customers are sufficiently supported and their equipment needs are met now and into the future. Dave Rock is continuing on in his role as operations manager for a brand-new facility just outside of Edmonton and will focus on meeting equipment needs in northern Alberta, northeastern BC, northern Saskatchewan and beyond. Heavy-duty technician Justin Rasmussen will continue to provide top notch technical support across the northern region. Jessica Hansen will carry on in her role as product support and office coordinator. ShearForce has secured a new facility in Nisku and will offer in-shop services including attachment rebuilds and machine hydraulic setups in the coming weeks. Dave, Justin, and Jessica will also be working closely with the team at ShearForce’s Airdrie facility to ensure parts and services are readily available to customers across the province.
