Distinction Aluminum Hoppers Get Upgrade From Lode King

Jul 24, 2025 - one month ago

The flagship line of Distinction aluminum hopper trailers from Lode King represents decades of listening and learning from customer needs and requirements.

Distinction Aluminum Hoppers Get Upgrade From Lode King

This model was previously designed as an all-steel trailer featuring three hoppers and a rear discharge hopper. We have since reconfigured this trailer to include two hoppers in the centre with a single discharge hopper at the rear.

Landing Gear
The aluminum Jost landing gear is standard on the Distinction series trailer. It features a galvanized insert and comes with a 10-year warranty and a 5-year maintenance-free package.

Control Box
Inside the control box, you can control the suspension and lighting. Also, inside is the air gauge box.

Steer Axle
Due to the lift mechanism integrated into the steer axle system, a half-round fender cannot be used. However, there is a close-out above the steer axle to prevent debris from flying up into the hopper area.

Additionally, there is a mudflap at the back of the axle to prevent debris from flying up against the chute shaft of the next hopper.

Fenders
The half-rounded fenders on this trailer are mounted using the same stub shaft design as all other Distinction series models.

They are secured with a stainless steel mounting bracket, which has replaced the previous tube-style mount. Additionally, a filler plate is positioned between each axle to prevent debris from passing through. Beneath that is an extra flap to keep the debris from flying into the next axle.

Suspension & Wheel Options
All of our trailers are equipped with the Henrickson Intraax 23K suspension, available with various wheel-end configurations.

The Hendrickson TIREMAAX Pro Inflation System is an excellent option for improved tire life. This system ensures that all tires remain at a consistent pressure.

Chute Gates
Each chute features a stainless-steel door, shafts, and a rack supported by an aluminum frame. Nylon rollers beneath the chute and replaceable wear strips on the top of the gate ensure smooth operation and longevity.

Discharge Opening
The discharge opening has a gate that opens and rolls into position. Beneath it, the discharge chute was designed to allow the grain to pass the bumper freely to minimize hang-up.

Lighting
Truck-Lite supplies all lighting, and four lighting packages are available to suit your needs.

Available lighting configurations include a base model, a three-light package, a five-light package, and a seven-light package. Within all packages, oval lights on top of the trailer are standard.

Regardless of the lighting package selected, the three rear lights in the center function as high-mount brake lights, while the two lights on the sides serve as signal lights, improving visibility and safety. The lower three lights operate as clearance lights, with the outermost lights also functioning as brake and signal indicators.

Trailer Tarp Features
The tarp crank is located at the back of the trailer. Because of the length of the trailer, tarp cords have been added to prevent the wind from blowing the tarp over.

Each tarp hood can feature optional vents at both the front and rear to stay up and out of the way, eliminating the need for sidewall vents. On the top of the trailer, a vent is mounted at the rear directly above the lights.

Michels supplies the tarping, and you have various colour options available for your tarp.
