As of July 1, Équipements FDS Inc. has been appointed the exclusive Ammann compaction and paving equipment dealer in the Province of Quebec. “We are thrilled to add Équipements FDS to our network of dealers across Canada,” says Peter Price, Area Sales Manager of Ammann Canada. “Pierre Boisvert and his experienced staff of industry professionals will not only provide excellent, ongoing service to our existing customer base in Quebec, but will also introduce the Ammann compaction and paving product line to a whole new group of equipment users. We could not be more pleased to now have Équipements FDS in the Ammann Canada family.”

Opened in Terrebonne in 2006, Équipements FDS Inc. is a sister company to the longstanding Quebec and Maritimes crane and lift industry supplier, Consultants F. Drapeau Inc. With large, modern facilities in Terrebonne, just north of Montreal and in Beloeil on the South Shore, Équipements FDS Inc. represents a diverse product offering, supported by parts and service partners throughout Quebec. Established product lines represented in various geographical markets include Sany cranes and port equipment, Atlas truck cranes, Dieci telehandlers, Altec boom and scissor lifts, Terberg forklifts and Kimble mixers.

The addition of Ammann compaction and paving equipment is “the perfect complement” to the Équipements FDS Inc. product offering, says Pierre Boisvert, FDS Sales Director. “It’s only natural for us to sell a world-renowned, top-quality compaction product line like Ammann”, Boisvert explains. “Lifting and compaction equipment are used by our customers at various stages throughout any construction project,” he says. A 30 year veteran of the Quebec construction equipment industry, Boisvert says the addition of Ammann to the Équipements FDS Inc. offering will allow him to introduce the product line to new customers, as well as extend their brand of after sales service and support to the many existing Ammann customers throughout Quebec.

As soon as Équipements FDS Inc. became the authorized Quebec dealer for Ammann, Price and his staff were onsite providing Ammann sales and parts training for the Équipements FDS team. According to Boisvert, in the first week, Équipements FDS Inc. had already completed two sales to a customer who has come to rely on Équipements FDS Inc. for his lifting equipment and service. Owning a boom truck, two scissor lifts, a telehandler and now two compaction units all from Équipements FDS Inc. makes sense to this particular customer, based three hours north of Montreal, says Boisvert. “He told us, When you send your mechanic to do the maintenance on my machines, he will do all of my machines at once. I don’t want anybody else near my machines.”

“Wherever an Ammann customer is located in the Province of Quebec, they will have full parts and service from Équipements FDS,” vows Boisvert. “Our business is based on service.” Going back 40 years with Consultants F. Drapeau, this foundation of equipment maintenance, parts, warranty and certification has resulted in constant sales growth for the organization in recent years. With many customers already relying on Équipements FDS Inc. for their equipment service, the introduction of Ammann to the market has proven a good fit for both customers and the dealer.

He explains, “we’re very confident we’ll have similar strong results with the Ammann compaction and paving equipment as we’ve had with the other products we have launched. We know, like the other product lines, it is a quality product.”
