Cummins Wins First Place In Corporate Citizenship Film Festival

Sep 29, 2011 - 13 years ago

Cummins has won first place in the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival for its video about a corporate responsibility project supplying power to a remote Indian village. Hundreds of times per year, residents of Padarwadi, India, had to carry rice up a long, narrow path to a mill. They dreamed of building a rice mill in their village, but that was impossible without a power source. Cummins India engineers developed a power generation system that runs on oil from the seeds of three species of trees indigenous to the village.
