Families, Industry Professionals Flock to TRUXPO 2016

Jun 10, 2016 - 9 years ago

The Tradex complex was the site for TRUXPO 2016, Western Canada’s largest commercial trucking show, held on Friday, May 13th and Saturday, May 14th. Approximately 9,000 industry professionals visited the show over two days to source and compare new products and see the latest in commercial truck and transportation equipment and services.

“Ensuring we are attracting the ‘right’ visitors to the show has been a focus for us, and we were very pleased with the results this year,” said Mark Cusack, National Show Manager. “The spotlight was definitely on new technologies, from both manufacturers and suppliers alike.”

A variety of special features helped to bolster excitement at TRUXPO 2016 – including a speaker series on health & safety organized by SafetyDriven—Trucking Safety Council of BC; a Women in the Industry reception and panel hosted by Trucking HR Canada; a Trucking Family Day on Saturday, with entertainment, games, face painting and more; a variety of musical entertainment on the TRUXPO stage; and a Show & Shine, professionally judged and organized by Pro-Trucker Magazine.

“Our speaker series was a great success based on the feedback we received,” said Annette DeCaire with SafetyDriven. “We had roughly 100 people attend the three sessions, and the evaluation forms we handed out came back with excellent ratings for each speaker.”

“The new addition of the Family Zone was well received at TRUXPO,” said Moira Pellerine, Marketing & Operations Manager. “In combination with the Show & Shine and entertainment on the stage it was a huge success! Thanks to Total Rewind Band, Dal Hothi & The Headlines and the Simon Fraser University Bhangra Club for taking part in this year’s show!”

Once again, TRUXPO was presented in partnership with the British Columbia Trucking Association.
