Snow Attachments for Canadian Jobsites

Nov 6, 2026 - an hour ago

Start with the Snow Management Plan

Identify where snow can be pushed, stacked or loaded, then mark curbs, drains, utilities, parked vehicles and pedestrian areas. The attachment should support the route rather than force operators into repeated backing or unnecessary travel.

Plan for early-season light snow, heavy wet events, packed material and restricted storage later in winter. One attachment may not cover every stage.

Record these operating needs:

  • Carrier type, operating capacity and hydraulic flow.

  • Clearing width and narrowest access point.

  • Surface type and obstacles.

  • Required stacking or loading height.

  • Typical snow depth, density and frequency.

Snow Pushers and Containment boxes

Pushers contain snow and move large volumes along a straight path. They suit parking lots, industrial yards and other open areas with defined stacking locations.

Because a pusher carries material in front of the machine, operators need room to turn and visibility to obstacles. Select width and weight for the carrier; an oversized pusher can reduce traction, steering and control.

Snow blade, bucket and broom attachments

Blades for windrowing and versatility

Straight, angle, V and wing blades direct snow rather than simply containing it. They work well on roads, lanes and routes where snow must be cast to one side.

Blade trip systems, cutting edges, float features and controls vary. Confirm the blade can follow the surface without overloading the carrier or damaging site features.

Buckets, Blowers and Brooms

High-volume snow buckets carry light snow and load trucks, while general-purpose buckets handle mixed material but may move less volume. Snow blowers can place snow beyond banks or into trucks when storage is tight. Rotary brooms clean residual snow and help expose pavement.

These tools have different hydraulic, electrical and guarding requirements. Confirm auxiliary flow, return circuits, coupler, carrier weight and visibility before purchase or rental.

Inspect before every storm

Check the coupler lock, hydraulic hoses, pins, cutting edges, skid shoes, wear plates and electrical connections. Remove packed snow and ice, and confirm that lights and cameras remain visible with the attachment installed.

Use the manufacturer’s inspection and operating procedures. Keep people clear of operating attachments and stored hydraulic energy, and correct defects before work begins.

Find snow attachments and compatible carriers

Supply Post lists equipment attachments, loaders, skid steers and rental options from sellers across Canada. Compare specifications and location, then ask the seller for model numbers, measurements and service history.

If an attachment is idle or no longer matches your fleet, photograph its coupler, data plate, controls and wear surfaces, then create a detailed listing for buyers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best attachment for a large parking lot?

A properly sized pusher or blade is common, but the best choice depends on stacking, obstacles, carrier capacity and how snow leaves the site.

Do I need high-flow hydraulics for a snow blower?

Some blowers do, while others have different requirements. Verify flow, pressure, return and electrical needs for the exact model.

Can a snow pusher be too large?

Yes. Excess width or weight can reduce traction, steering, visibility and machine stability.

What photos help when selling an attachment?

Show the data plate, coupler, hoses, controls, cutting edge, wear areas and all sides, plus any known damage.
