Peterbilt Introduces New Car Carrier Models

Peterbilt is pleased to announce the introduction of two new vehicle configurations for the car carrier market, the Model 567 UltraLow Roof Day Cab and the Model 589 UltraLow Roof 58-inch Sleeper. These new vehicle configurations were developed in collaboration with leading car carriers and set new benchmarks in low-profile design, lightweight solutions, safety features, visibility and driver comfort.

“The introduction of these two new configurations for car carrier applications is another example of how Peterbilt designs and manufactures products that provide Individualized Solutions for the unique needs of our customers,” said Scott Newhouse, Peterbilt chief engineer.

The Model 567 UltraLow Roof Day Cab stands out as the premier lightweight solution for car carrier applications. Designed with the industry's lowest factory roof height of 95-inches, this model eliminates the need for aftermarket modifications, making it an industry leader in terms of design and efficiency.

The new UltraLow Roof 58-inch sleeper for the Model 589 offers the style and comfort customers seeking a car hauling sleeper configuration need. With a 100-inch roof height, it achieves a low profile while providing a spacious 2.1m cab for a legendary driving experience. This exclusive model is tailored to meet the unique demands of long-haul journeys, combining comfort with the low-profile design that car carriers prioritize.

Both new configurations are built upon Peterbilt’s lightweight and rugged aluminum cab for maximizing load capacity and providing long lasting durability and performance even in the harshest of conditions. The large windshield and side view mirrors provide exceptional visibility. The interiors are designed for driver comfort, offering customizable dash panels, deep cup holders, multiple power ports and best-in-class storage options for personal items. A suite of active safety systems includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and other features like grab handles for easy ingress/egress.

The PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines, coupled with the PACCAR TX-12 transmission, provide advanced power and performance for heavy car carrier applications. The transmission's smooth shifting improves fuel efficiency, making it the lightest heavy-duty automated transmission system on the market.
