This summer's updates are a good example of that in action. Tommy Gate is introducing the highest-capacity liftgate yet, a new platform design, an expanded application for the G2-48, and a new digital resource for our distributor partners. Whether you run a fleet, manage a route, or spec equipment for a living, there's something here for you.

Meet the TKR: Our Largest Lifting Capacity Liftgate Yet

The newest addition to the Tuckunder Series, the TKR, represents a major step forward for Tommy Gate, expanding the lineup into the high-capacity liftgate category with a solution designed to handle heavier demands with confidence.

Featuring a dual-cylinder design with standard power-down capability, the TKR delivers smooth, controlled operation and reliable performance in demanding, real-world applications. It's dock-compatible and stows cleanly out of the way, giving forklifts full rear access when the liftgate isn't in use. Making it an ideal solution for operations that require both flexibility and efficiency.

Built to accommodate bed heights from 43- to 59-inches, the TKR offers a lifting capacity of up to 4,000 lbs., making it the highest-capacity liftgate in the Tommy Gate lineup to date. With this addition, Tommy Gate now provides customers with a broader range of Tuckunder liftgate solutions, including higher-capacity options for fleets and operators who require more from their liftgate.

The TKR joins our existing Tuckunder Series:

  • TKL (2,500 lb. capacity)
  • TKT (2,500 lb and 3,000 lb capacity)

Power-Down, Explained

In colder conditions, a power-down liftgate gives operators consistency during platform descent, helping maintain smooth, consistent movement even when low temperatures slow hydraulic performance. For anyone working in cold weather environments, that added control makes a real difference during loading and unloading.

Here's how it works: A power-down system uses hydraulic force in both directions, actively powering the platform as it lowers. Because hydraulic fluid moves more slowly in cold weather, applying controlled pressure on the way down helps keep operation steady and predictable regardless of weather conditions.

G2 Series Gets A Power-Down Option

Power-down functionality has been part of the Tommy Gate lineup for years, offered across the Tuckunder and Cantilever series liftgates.

That proven capability is expanding to the G2 Series. Power-down is now available as an add-on for new G2 Series models. If you operate in cold climates or simply want more control during descent, it's worth asking your distributor about.

A New Platform Has Arrived: RF 55+12

The Railgate Series: Dock-Friendly, or "RF" for short, is a proven part of the Tommy Gate lineup. These models carry all the benefits of a Standard Railgate while giving unrestricted access to the back of the vehicle. RF platforms fold up to keep rear access clear for forklift and dock loading. The series comes in a range of sizes, and now a new one is added, built for operators who want the flat loading space they're used to with the added benefit of a folding platform.

The RF 55+12 delivers 55 inches of flat loading surface, matching the most popular platform size in the Railgate Series: Standard lineup. The RF 55+12 features a folding platform with a 12-inch taper for improved ground clearance, bringing dock-friendly functionality to a size operators already know and trust.

The G2-48 Takes on Industrial Utility Vehicles

Electric utility carts are becoming increasingly common across campuses, warehouses, and industrial facilities. These compact electric vehicles are being used to move people, tools, and materials more efficiently than ever, and as their capabilities grow, so does the demand for solutions that can keep up. The G2-48 liftgate is now available for small pickup applications, including Taylor-Dunn models, bringing a proven loading solution to this growing segment.

The G2-48 brings the same proven reliability to a new application, meeting the growing demand for liftgate solutions on electric and industrial utility vehicles.

Key Features:

  • Lightweight aluminum platform
  • Dual hydraulic cylinders
  • Fully enclosed hydraulic system
  • Compact, space-conscious design
  • The same reliability, now built for a new application.
