On February 11, 2019 Van-Ed Equipment Ltd. announced that Craig Stewart had joined the team as General Manager. Along with the President, Rick Thompson, Craig will oversee the sales, rentals, parts, service, and operations based at our Port Kells facility in Surrey, B.C.
“My objectives in this role will be to build on our already successful infrastructure and customer relationships in the industry, leveraging our engaged team of staff, social media, technology, and my previous experience to better serve our diverse customer base. I’ll be working closely with our key customers in 2019, as we look to grow the business both this year and beyond.”
Craig will report to the President, Rick Thompson. “I’ve brought Craig onboard to help us continue our plan of steady growth, leveraging his 12+ years’ of expertise in the heavy equipment industry, as well as his skills in business and technology. Craig has also spent many years forming solid industry relationships with several key associations, such as the B.C. Landscape & Nursery Association (BCLNA) and the Association of Equipment Distributors of B.C. (AED). We’ll be looking to expand Van-Ed’s relationships in this space, and Craig will help drive this for us. We’ve been in business for 32 years, and Craig will be an integral part in leading and growing the team moving forward. Craig is a strong leader, and I am looking forward to seeing the evolution of our Van-Ed Equipment team.”
Craig first joined the heavy equipment industry in 2007, joining the sales team at Brandt Tractor as a Worksite Product Specialist. Craig managed this successful sales territory for 2 years, covering Vancouver, Richmond, the Sunshine Coast, and the Sea to Sky, before being promoted to the role of Sales Manager – Worksite Products for Brandt’s Coastal Division. In the Fall of 2012, Craig departed Brandt to join Finning (Canada) as Sales Manager for their General Construction team in the Lower Mainland. Craig was instrumental in helping grow Caterpillar market share for Finning over his 6+ years in the role. in In the Fall of 2018, Craig also assumed responsibility for the Rental Sales team for Finning under the Cat Rental Store brand, with two stores in the Greater Vancouver area.
Craig comes to Van-Ed Equipment armed a Business Administration Diploma, and a Business Computing Diploma, both from Capilano College. Craig has also taken a number of professional development courses and continues to expand his knowledge base regularly. In addition to his formal education, Craig brings 12+ years’ in the equipment industry and a wealth of customer knowledge.
