Michigan based Bandit Industries, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the wood waste recycling, tree care and biomass/biofuel production industries, made their NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway with Team42 and the Pelletier Brothers of Millinocket Maine.
Rookie driver Parker Kligerman brings home his best career finish of 9th place in the Nationwide Series #42 Pelletier Brothers/GetMoreVacations.com Dodge Charger in the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
It was a hard fought day at the track which saw Team42 as high as 8th in practice. During practice, Parker Kligerman got on the radio to tell Crew Chief Chris Carrier that his car kept popping out of fourth gear (the main drive gear) and causing the engine to over rev. The decision was then made to pull the transmission immediately after practice and put in a back-up.
With little time to spare between practice and qualifying, the crew of Team42 went to work. Not only did they replace an entire transmission without removing the motor, they replaced all the valve springs as a precautionary measure. Once the changes were complete, the team pushed through tech inspection and onto the grid for qualifying where the team made the race in 43rd position.
Once the green flag waved, Kligerman worked his way up through the field, picking up positions while successfully avoiding multiple car accidents. A total of eight caution flags flew during the event, aiding Team42 to pick up several track positions, getting as high as third.
A strong car, solid driving performance and great pit strategy helped Team42 to a 9th place finish. Team42 would like to thank the Pelletier Brothers from Discovery Channel's American Loggers and GetMoreVacations.com along with their newest marketing partners Bandit Chippers and Food Country USA for their support in this Top-10 effort.
