Top Drivers Vie For Honours At The 2010 BC Professional Truck Driving Championships

Over 60 of the best professional truck drivers from around BC will take part in the annual BC Professional Truck Driving Championships this Saturday. Six classes of competition will challenge drivers operating trucks from Step Vans to large B-Train units.

The three tests will showcase contestants’ knowledge and skill:
  • a written exam
  • a vehicle pre-trip inspection with planted defects
  • an obstacle course for drivers to display mastery of maneuvering, cornering and judging distance operating their trucks
  • All contestants must be accident-free for 12 months prior to the championships.

    WHAT: 2010 British Columbia Professional Truck Driving Championships

    WHEN: Saturday, June 26, 2010, 8:30 am – 4 pm (obstacle course & driving competition)

    WHERE: Tradex Centre 1190 Cornell Street Abbotsford, BC

    WHY: To determine the BC team for the 2010 National Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba in September 2010.

    WHO: Defending their BC class titles from 2009 will be Dean Grant of Abbotsford, David Lighton of Langley, Jack Newton of Kelowna, Edward Rolston of Surrey, and Hans Wettstein of Surrey

    Spectators are welcome! No admission. There will be family entertainment and concessions available for breakfast and lunch.
