The patented Posi-Turner, designed to rotate bulky and hard to handle objects during manufacture or assembly processes, is widely utilized throughout the automotive industry.

Cummins To Acquire Meritor

Transaction will strengthen Cummins’ industry-leading range of powertrain components and accelerate development of electrified power solutions

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) and Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) has announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Cummins will acquire Meritor, a global leader of drivetrain, mobility, braking, aftermarket and electric powertrain solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets. Under the terms of the agreement, Cummins will pay $36.50 in cash per Meritor share, for a total transaction value of approximately $3.7 billion, including assumed debt and net of acquired cash.

Meritor is an industry leader, and the addition of their complementary strengths will help us address one of the most critical technology challenges of our age: developing economically viable zero carbon solutions for commercial and industrial applications,” said Tom Linebarger, Chairman and CEO, Cummins. “Climate change is the existential crisis of our time and this acquisition accelerates our ability to address it. Sandvik Wins 18.5 MCAD Equipment Order For Open Pit Mine In Canada

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has won an 18.5 MCAD order for surface mining equipment from Newcrest in Canada that will optimize reliability and productivity. Automation ready, the surface and rotary drills will be used at the open pit copper and gold mine currently in production.

Newcrest has ordered two Sandvik Leopard DI650i, and two Sandvik DR412i for use at Red Chris in British Columbia, Canada, an open pit copper and gold mine that recently published the outcomes of a Pre-Feasibility Study demonstrating the potential to become a world class block cave mine. Sandvik will also provide Field Service Support and Vendor Managed Inventory to support the site’s training and maintenance processes.
