  • Maxim Gave Free Meals For Truck Drivers Passing Through Brandon Manitoba

    From April 7-9  Maxim Truck & Trailer in Brandon, Manitoba thanked the many truck drivers travelling the TransCanada Highway with free meals. Maxim’s heavy-duty International Truck dealership is situated directly off the TransCanada Highway in the center of Canada where trucks regularly travel from coast to coast with essential supplies.

    “Leading up to Easter, we just wanted to make sure that truck drivers know we care and appreciate them,” says Darin Bouchard, General Manager of Maxim Truck & Trailer’s Brandon location. “Our dealership group has branch offices across the country but our location is right in the middle of the country and we thought we could catch a lot of drivers from all parts of Canada”

    Maxim Truck & Trailer will remain open at all locations across Canada during our normal business hours. As an essential provider, we will continue to sell, lease, rent, and support customers operating transportation equipment while being sensitive to our respective community's needs. Additional safety measures we’ve put in place include: minimizing person-to-person contact; extra emphasis on sanitization including our rental vehicles; and limiting in-person customer visits and interactions.

  • Hyundai Collaboration With Cummins – Results In New A Series Wheel Loaders, Excavators

    Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas introduced wheel loader and excavator models from its new A Series, all of which feature new generation Cummins Performance Series diesel engines that achieve compliance with international Stage 5 emissions-control standards. A full range of wheel loaders and excavators.

    “Hyundai is pleased to collaborate with Cummins in the introduction of our A Series wheel loaders and excavators,” said Stan Park, Vice President of Distribution and Marketing, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. “The Cummins Performance Series engines, combined with the engineering and product design expertise of Hyundai, will enable our customers to achieve substantial performance gains from a smaller, lighter power package. Customers will experience more than a 10-percent increase in power and a nearly 20-percent increase in torque compared to previous engines, all while using less fuel.”

  • SENNEBOGEN Appoints New National Sales Manager To Build Customer Value In Americas

    Constantino Lannes, President of SENNEBOGEN LLC, recently announced that Jason Jones has joined the firm’s executive teams as Americas’ Sales Manager. Jones now takes senior responsibility for developing and leading the SENNEBOGEN sales network in the USA, Canada, Mexico and South America.

  • Canada Must Be Champion Of Open Trade: C.D. Howe Institute Crisis Working Group On Business Continuity And Trade

    Canada must champion open international trade and remain an ‘honest partner’ in the face of a worrying trend among G7 nations towards export restrictions on critical goods, says the C.D. Howe Institute’s Crisis Working Group on Business Continuity and Trade.

    The group of economists and industry experts, co-chaired by Dwight Duncan, Senior Strategic Advisor at McMillan LLP and former Ontario Minister of Finance, and Jeanette Patell, Vice-President of Government Affairs and Policy for GE Canada, held its third meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. They emphasized that open international trade is essential to Canada – both in the immediate crisis and for the long-term. The working group observed a worrisome tide of export restrictions on critical goods internationally – most immediately reflected in the US president’s threat to prohibit surgical mask exports to Canada.

  • Canada Cartage Selected As Top Fleet Employer For Fifth Straight Year

    Trucking HR Canada has announced that Canada Cartage has been selected as one of the country's Top Fleet Employers. The award honours the best workplaces in Canada's trucking industry. Canada Cartage has also been recognized as an Employer of Distinction, having successfully been recognized five years in a row as a Top Fleet Employer.

    Fleets of every size were rated on topics including employee recognition, compensation, lifestyle, employee engagement, wellness, professional development, recruitment, and retention. The award was evaluated based on a comprehensive application process, driver and staff surveys, and follow-up interviews.
