    EvoQuip Launches The Revamped Bison 120

    EvoQuip is pleased to launch the revamped Bison 120 jaw crusher, with enhancements to reinforce the brand’s fundamentals of being easy to operate, maintain and transport—including a new fuel efficient Deutz 2.2 L3 Engine Stage V engine, larger crusher drive motor and easily adjustable belt tensioner to aid tensioning and belt replacement. 


    Visually the new model is sleek and the new style panels offer unrivalled access to the engine bay from all three sides making maintenance and servicing easy. The revamped model, whilst still being simple to use, now has the addition of a programmable logic controller (PLC) with intuitive push button control panel as standard along with a remote control to enable the operator to adjust the jaw’s closed side setting (CSS) and to start or stop from the cab.

    Meritor And DTNA Extend Agreement To Provide Air Disc Brakes For Freightliner Cascadia Trucks

    Meritor, Inc. and Daimler Trucks North America have announced that Meritor EX+ LS air disc brakes (ADB) will be standard on all-wheel positions on Freightliner Cascadia truck models through 2025. The award is part of a broader five-year extension of the current agreement with DTNA that includes Meritor’s axles, drivelines, drum brakes, industrial and aftermarket products for the North America market through 2027.


    “DTNA’s decision to provide EX+ LS air disc brakes on its Freightliner Cascadia is a reflection of how well our brakes have performed and the positive feedback from its customers,” said Saad Malik, general manager for Meritor Front Drivetrain. “We’re proud to continue our partnership with a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in North America.”

    Contract Awarded To Build South Bow River Bridge

    PCL Construction has won the contract to replace the eastbound bridge over the Bow River on southeast Stoney Trail in Calgary.


    The contract was awarded for about $48 million and offers significant savings for taxpayers. The total project cost, which includes engineering and utility relocations, is estimated at $60 million – significantly less than the anticipated cost of $70 million.

    Reducing Food Waste Through Sustainable Insect Production In Calgary

    The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, has announced that Enterra Feed Corporation (Enterra) received $6 million under the AgriInnovate Program to help increase the production of sustainable, nutritious products to feed animals while helping to keep food out of landfills.


    This funding supported the construction of a full-scale commercial facility, as well as the adoption of innovative equipment and processes to increase production capacity and improve efficiency, making it the first operation of its kind in Canada. Through the AgriInnovate Program, Enterra has established a state-of-the-art, 188,000-square-foot production facility just north of Calgary, Alberta in Rocky View County. At this facility, Enterra has been producing insect-based feed ingredients, with products for the pet food, poultry and wild bird markets being shipped throughout North America as well as recent expansion to the European Union.
