Terex MP Acquires MDS International In Ireland

Terex Materials Processing (MP), a global leader in materials processing equipment, is pleased to announce the purchase of MDS International (MDS), a manufacturer of heavy duty and recycling trommels, apron feeders and conveyor systems, based in Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

MDS International manufactures heavy duty and recycling trommels, apron feeders and conveyor systems (pictured left), a product range that complements other Terex brands such as EvoQuip (pictured right).

MDS was founded in 1995 by Liam and Una Murray, with a vision to design and develop engineering solutions to industry. Over the past 25 years MDS has built a highly skilled work force along with global distribution partners, and has a valued reputation for innovation, offering bespoke solutions to serve client needs with equipment that can withstand the harshest of environments.

Hub Group Begins Electric Truck Fleet Pilot

Hub Group has begun its electric truck fleet pilot with Daimler Trucks North America as part of Freightliner’s Customer Experience (CX) Fleet.

This will be part of a six-month test in Southern California across a variety of freight environments and conditions in both dedicated and drayage freight operations.

ICBA Launches Wellness Program For Construction Workers

With opioid overdoses at record levels in B.C., and people’s mental health stretched thin by the impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (ICBA) is launching its new ICBA Workplace Wellness Program, designed to help employers and workers manage the unique mental health challenges facing the construction industry.

Statistics show that more than half the employed people who have died of opioid overdoses in B.C. in recent years worked in construction. And the risk of suicide for those working in construction is seven times the national average. While there are a lot of resources to help safeguard and improve mental wellness, not many of them are tailored to construction workplaces and workforces.

Werk-Brau introduces the PowerGrip Bucket, a multi-purpose bucket that enhances a machine’s grading, trenching and clamshell capabilities with precise control.

With 120-degrees of jaw opening, and a clamping force three-times that of standard thumbs, the PowerGrip eliminates the need for additional attachments. The precise control allows users to deftly place materials where desired the first time. Unique design includes an enclosed rotary actuator hinge in cross-tube. There are no exposed cylinders or other external moving parts, and no obstruction in jaw or bucket shell, thus reducing the risk of downtime due to cylinder failure.
