  • May Marketing Insights: The Latest Heavy Equipment Trends

May was a big month for Supply Post. From major spikes in mini excavator and dozer interest to a wave of highly specific searches by province, Canadian buyers made it clear they’re continuing to search with intention. With warm weather kicking construction and forestry into full swing, site-ready machines topped the charts.

Mini excavators saw the biggest jump this month, with search volume up 173.91%. That builds on a strong showing in April, where mini excavator pageviews had already climbed over 23%. This sustained surge suggests compact machines remain a key focus for contractors heading into summer.

Buyers also zeroed in on powerful machines like the D10 dozer, which rose 132.64% in searches. That follows April’s standout performance from the D7 dozer, which was up over 223%. With both models trending back-to-back, interest in heavy-duty earthmoving equipment is clearly gaining momentum.
