The Government of Saskatchewan is committing $385.8 million in the 2010-11 Agriculture budget to continue improving programs and meeting the needs of farming and ranching families. The province's 40 per cent share of business risk management programs will be fully funded in the 2010-11 budget. Approximately three quarters of the ministry budget goes toward fully funding these programs, which include AgriStability, AgriInvest and Crop Insurance. This program funding is based on federal projections and varies year to year due to factors such as commodity prices and income projections.

Dave Ritchie, co-founder of Vancouver-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, sold the megayacht Apoise for more than (euro) 34 million (US$46 million) at a Ritchie Bros. unreserved public auction. The sale of Apoise broke the Company's record for the highest value auction lot ever sold. Previous to the Apoise auction, the Company's record was a US$8.5 million asphalt plant and surrounding real estate sold in Illinois in 2005.

The lack of details, even in the official launch Wednesday of Bloom Energy's first product, concerned some experts. They said it's not possible yet to measure the true cost of generating power using a Bloom box and to determine whether Bloom Energy's technology is substantially different from that of other fuel-cell companies. "I would try to take a healthy dose of skepticism. What they have demonstrated is they have these systems and they have been able to deploy them," said Bryan Pivovar, fuel cell group manager of the Hydrogen Technologies and Systems Center at the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
