Seatbelt Engagement & Operator Presence Option For JLG Telehandlers Now Available

JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company and leading global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, now offers a Seatbelt Engagement and Operator Presence option for JLG 742, 943, 1043, 1055 and 1255 telehandler models.

Seatbelt engagement & operator presence option is now offfered on new 742, 943, 1043, 1055 & 1255 JLG models.

This system, which includes seatbelt engagement assurance and operator presence functionality, as well as a high visibility orange seatbelt, uses visual and audible alarms, as well as limits machine functions, to enhance safety during telehandler operation.

Transforming Agricultural Waste Into Biodiesel Fuel

The Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) fund is supporting a new facility in southern Alberta that will create jobs and cut emissions by transforming agricultural waste.

Alberta’s government is using $4.7 million from the TIER fund through Emissions Reduction Alberta to create a $28.6-million facility in Lethbridge that will produce an estimated 70 million litres of high-value renewable fuel. This facility will be the first of its kind in Canada, turning local agricultural waste, inedible animal fats and used cooking oil into biodiesel fuel and glycerin.

Electric Sennebogen Material Handler Complements State-Of-The-Art Sawmill

The sawmilling industry has continued its meteoric rise despite the strained economic situation in many other industries. In response to this surge in demand, one of Germany's largest wood processing companies, GELO Holzwerke decided in 2020 to make a far-reaching investment in a new small-diameter wood sawmill. And a featured machine in the sawmill is a Sennebogen 835 E electric material handler which is now responsible for all its log handling duties.

At the end of 2020 and after 11 months of construction, the 750,000+ ft² (70,000 m²) plant in the Wunsiedel Energy Park went into operation exactly as scheduled. GELO Holzwerke along with a strategic partner combined to invest almost 40 million euros into the new site, where 50,000 solid cubic ft. (1400 cubic m) per day will be processed in a two-shift operation.
