  • Finning Signs Agreement To Become Exclusive Dealer Of MultiDocker

Finning Canada, a division of Finning International Inc. (TSX: FTT), has signed an agreement to become the exclusive dealer of MultiDocker in western Canada.  MultiDocker is the leading manufacturer of hydraulic material handlers for the forestry, scrap recycling and bulk handling industries.

"We are delighted to be the exclusive dealer for MultiDocker, a company with over 30 years' experience in manufacturing and distributing cargo handlers world-wide and a recognized leader in the customization of these products to meet individual industrial sector needs," says David Primrose, EVP core industries, Finning Canada. "The addition of the MultiDocker to our product offerings will enable us to provide our customers with a complete array of industry-specific solutions to meet all their material-handling needs."

This partnership with MultiDocker is a natural fit given the base machine is produced by Caterpillar and many of the parts are standard Cat components that complement the Cat product portfolio. The products are also compatible with Finning's sales and service network. In addition to meeting demand in western Canada for the full line of rubber and track handlers, customers will also benefit from the exceptional after sales support, parts and service Finning provides.

  • Oil is by far the biggest money-generating commodity Canada exports

Millions and millions of dollars in taxes and royalties are being lost because of delays in twinning the Trans Mountain Pipeline. Second in a series on the economic impacts of the project.

    By Don Hauka

Nothing else comes close to generating large economic benefits for Canada the way crude oil does.

The revenues generated by crude oil exports helps pay for the services we expect like health care and education. They also offset economic sectors where we’re in a trade deficit, such as the $34.7 billion black hole in electronic equipment – our iPhones and all other hi-tech gear at the heart of modern life.As noted economist and commodities guru Patricia Mohr says, the trade figures speak for themselves. They're not a political issue, they're economic facts. The fact is that according to national trade data for 2016, net exports of crude oil alone created a trade surplus of $33.1 billion for Canada.
