  • John Deere Teaches Students About Construction Industry Through "Construction Challenge" Sponsorship

    To help educate students considering careers in the construction industry, John Deere Construction & Forestry sponsored a team from the Bartlett, Ill., High School Academy of Science and Engineering in this year's Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Construction Challenge. The event, now in its fifth year, was held recently in Las Vegas at ConExpo, the construction industry's largest trade event.

  • AMTA Throws Its Support Behind IRP Change

    AMTA is joining forces with the other provincial trucking associations to support a change to the International Registration Plan that should save the trucking industry about $81 million per year. International Registration Plan (IRP), Inc., the organization responsible for establishing IRP rules, is set to vote on a ballot that would allow motor carriers to pay registration fees based on actual mileage and automatically register each truck involved in IRP with each IRP jurisdiction.
