    Peterbilt Motors Company recently announced the donation of a Peterbilt Model 365 to the First Response Team of America to help in their ongoing disaster relief efforts throughout the United States. The Model 365 was presented to Tad Agoglia, president and founder of the First Response Team, during an event at the Denton Plant on December 16th.

  • Siemens Well On Track To Become One Of The World’s Top Three Providers Of Wind Turbines

    Siemens continues to expand its international manufacturing network in the rapidly growing wind power business. In December, the technology company opened in Shanghai its first rotor blade manufacturing plant in China, a new nacelle production in Hutchinson, Kansas, and has selected Tillsonburg in Ontario for its Canadian rotor blade manufacturing site. The investment volume for the three new locations is approximately EUR100 million. The company has already announced the construction of other wind turbine production facilities in the UK, India and China, and a joint venture for the production of wind turbine components for the Russian market.

  • At First Glance Proposed Changes To New US Hours Of Service Rules Not As Bad As Thought

    The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently issued a regulatory proposal that would revise hours-of-service (HOS) requirements for commercial truck drivers. The publication of the proposed rule coincides with the timeframe established in a court settlement agreement that requires FMCSA to publish a final HOS rule by July 26, 2011.

  • Oshkosh Technologies Tackle 1,000-Mile Off-Road Desert Race

    Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced that its Extreme Racing team has completed the 43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 off-road race course in Mexico. The Oshkosh Extreme Racing team ran its Light Concept Vehicles (LCV) through the rugged 1,061-mile desert course and one crossed the finish line in La Paz today.
