    The over-the-road (OTR) or long-haul trucking industry has long been glamourized by Hollywood with movies like Convoy, Duel and, for those old enough, who can forget Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jerry Reed in Smokey and the Bandit. 

    Not to be out done; the music industry has added its share of colour as well with songs like On The Road Again, Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses, Drivin’ My Life Away and the giant Alabama hit Roll On 18 Wheeler. But the reality of the industry may be somewhat different today.

  • Alberta To Develop New Commercial Safety Rest Areas Across The Province

    Following extensive feedback from municipalities and the trucking industry over the last 18 months, the Government of Alberta is eager to see these commercial sites take shape. New rest areas will allow people to fuel up, stretch their legs or stop for a meal. Construction will generate good-paying jobs.

  • Isuzu & Cummins Announce Battery Electric Truck Collaboration

    Cummins Inc. and Isuzu Motors Limited announced an agreement to create a prototype medium-duty, battery electric truck to demonstrate in North America.

    Isuzu & Cummins Announce Battery Electric Truck Collaboration

    This truck represents the first zero-emissions solution facilitated by the Isuzu Cummins Powertrain Partnership (ICPP) formed in May 2019. Through this arrangement, Cummins will integrate the Cummins PowerDrive6000 into Isuzu’s F-Series truck and will pilot the truck with prominent North American fleets beginning in 2022. Following a successful demonstration and pilot phase, Isuzu will explore opportunities to commercialize medium-duty, battery-electric trucks with Cummins-powered systems across North America.

    Air Inuit has announced the world's first large freighter door Dash8-300 aircraft officially joined its fleet. Following more than 36 months of planning, design, retrofitting and safety testing, the custom-modified aircraft received its Supplemental Type Certificate from Transport Canada on February 3rd.
