  • Superior & General Aggregate Expand Relationship To Central Canada

    Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of aggregate processing and handling systems, is excited to announce a growing partnership with its longest serving equipment dealer. General Aggregate Equipment Sales — who purchased their first Superior conveyor way back in the early 1980s — will now represent the manufacturer’s full-line of equipment in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. A full-line dealer carries all of Superior’s crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment plus parts.

    Just like their existing partnership in several U.S. states in the Upper Midwest, General Aggregate Equipment Sales will sell, service and support Superior’s crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment in Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well. Superior’s diverse product portfolio includes jaw, cone, HSI and VSI crushers; horizontal, inclined and grizzly feeding vibratory equipment; scrubbing, classifying, washing and dewatering solutions; plus unloading, transferring and stacking conveyors including the manufacturer’s famous TeleStacker Conveyor.

  • Bobcat Company Announces New Partnership With National Disaster Search Dog Foundation

    Bobcat Company (Bobcat) has announced a new partnership with the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (SDF), a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening disaster response in America by training highly skilled canine and handler search teams. The partnership spotlights SDF’s National Training Center in Santa Paula, California, where shelter dogs are trained to become rescue dogs through simulated rubble piles and mock disaster sites.

    Founded in 1996, SDF has trained 180 certified first responder and canine teams that have deployed to 216 disasters and missing person searches. Through this partnership, Bobcat equipment is used to create and maintain realistic onsite training environments at the 125-acre National Training Center, which is designed to simulate conditions in various types of natural and manmade disasters.

    Designing and developing a super-efficient and super-sleek prototype and research truck, like SuperTruck II, requires a special dance of collaboration and creativity that the designers and engineers at Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) are well familiar with.

    Launched in 2016, SuperTruck II is the Energy Department’s second investment in next-generation technologies, with a focus on cost-effective solutions to more than double freight efficiency in trucking. SuperTruck II is a DTNA research and development program co-funded by the U.S. Department of Energy to develop a tractor-trailer combination using a suite of technologies including active aerodynamics, advanced engine combustion with enhanced air handling and intercooling and hybridization. It is DTNA’s second time participating in a SuperTruck initiative and allows the manufacturer to investigate high-risk, high-reward technologies to clear the technical pathway for their development and potential integration in series production. The goal is to develop commercially viable solutions that benefit the customer. Particularly, within the transformation from clean diesel combustion engines to battery-electric transportation, DTNA sees potential to improve energy efficiency even further.

    Because the GST also applies to provincial fuel taxes, the 13-cent reduction will also reduce the GST by 0.65 cents per litre, for total tax savings of about 13.6 cents per litre of gasoline and diesel.

    Alberta’s government will stop the collection of the provincial fuel tax to offer Albertans relief from current high fuel prices. Currently, Albertans pay 13 cents per litre in fuel tax. This change will come into effect April 1.
