  • Rio Tinto Gives Green Light To Further US$1.2 Billion Iron Ore Investment In The Next Step Of Australia's Largest Mining Project

    Rio Tinto has approved a further US$1.2 billion investment in its drive to lift annual iron ore production capacity in Western Australia's Pilbara region to 283 million tonnes per annum (Mt/a). The capital will be used for significant expansions at the Brockman 4 and Western Turner Syncline mines.

  • Kligerman, Bandit Close NASCAR Nationwide Season With Strong Finish At Homestead

    After qualifying 23rd for the Ford 300 Nationwide Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Parker Kligerman and Team 42 Racing took the Bandit Industries/GetMoreVacations.com Dodge Charger to a strong 13th finish in a race dominated by caution flags. "We ran basically seventh . . . and one crucial bad pit stop ruined our night," said Kligerman on his Twitter account. "No harm though, nice recovery to 13th and a fitting end to 2010." The racing stayed tight and competitive throughout the evening thanks to no less than 11 caution flags. Pit strategy became crucial as teams gambled on fuel mileage and tire choices; Team 42 was positioned to move even further up the field when a minor mistake during a late race stop sent the team from eighth to 21st position.
