  • Terex Corporation Divesting Atlas Heavy Construction Equipment

    Terex Corporation announced that it has entered into an agreement to divest the Terex Atlas heavy construction equipment, which is located in Ganderkesee, Germany, and knuckle-boom crane and related components businesses, which have operations in Vechta and Delmenhorst, Germany. Also included as part of this transaction are the sales and service business located in Bradford, United Kingdom, and the Terex minority ownership position in the Atlas Chinese joint venture. Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed, although the business is being divested with an agreed-upon amount of capital to be transferred with the business. The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2010.

  • Goodyear Names Oregon Truck Driver As Highway Hero

    The 27th annual Goodyear North America Highway Hero is an Oregon truck driver who helped save the lives of three people involved in a fiery traffic accident, including one driver who was trapped in his burning vehicle. Junichi Shimizu accepted the award and a $10,000 U.S. Savings Bond during the Mid-America Trucking Show.

  • Agriculture Budget Focuses On Farmers & Ranchers

    The Government of Saskatchewan is committing $385.8 million in the 2010-11 Agriculture budget to continue improving programs and meeting the needs of farming and ranching families. The province's 40 per cent share of business risk management programs will be fully funded in the 2010-11 budget. Approximately three quarters of the ministry budget goes toward fully funding these programs, which include AgriStability, AgriInvest and Crop Insurance. This program funding is based on federal projections and varies year to year due to factors such as commodity prices and income projections.
