  • North Carolina Contractor Recognized For Contributing To ‘Green-Certified’ Home Built By Habitat For Humanity

    Case Construction Equipment announced Seneca Landscapes as the most recent monthly winner of the Case Community Challenge. This program recognizes construction contractors who support their local communities with significant community service projects. Seneca Landscapes, Wake Forest, N.C., was awarded for donating labor, materials and the use of equipment in helping build the first “green-certified” home built in Raleigh by Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, N.C. During the project, Seneca designed and installed landscaping that contributed to the project’s goal of creating a resource-efficient home. The home earned the National Association of Home Builders’ Green Certification for energy efficiency.

  • Cummins Wins First Place In Corporate Citizenship Film Festival

    Cummins has won first place in the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival for its video about a corporate responsibility project supplying power to a remote Indian village. Hundreds of times per year, residents of Padarwadi, India, had to carry rice up a long, narrow path to a mill. They dreamed of building a rice mill in their village, but that was impossible without a power source. Cummins India engineers developed a power generation system that runs on oil from the seeds of three species of trees indigenous to the village.
