  • US & Canada Announce Border Investment Plan

    U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, along with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety announced the first ever joint United States- Canada Border Infrastructure Investment Plan (BIIP). The development and release of this initiative fulfills a commitment made under the 2011 United States-Canada Beyond the Border Action Plan.

  • Terex Sand And Gravel Washplant In Tropical Trinidad

    Readymix (W.I.) is one of Trinidad’s top producers of high quality concrete and related products and was in need of a new wash plant to replace their existing plant that was challenged with inefficiencies and maintenance and production issues. Readymix (W.I.) chose to work with DUO PLC, who has more than 35 years of industry experience and is also well known within the Caribbean region. After careful analysis of Readymix’s specific requirements, paying particular attention to the varied high silt feed material, DUO proposed a custom Terex Washing Systems’ plant that is now effectively processing clay bound sand and gravel to produce three aggregates and one grade of sand while operating at 200 tons per hour.

    All impact type crushing machines use speed to crush. While there are many factors that affect the crushing efficiency of impact crushers, the most important of this is the material velocity. This determines the amount of crushing that is done and the overall grading of the crusher discharge. Generally, the faster the material is accelerated, the greater the amount of crushing that is achieved. For this reason, it is essential that the impact crusher used have a wide operating speed range to accommodate a broad spectrum of material types and feed gradings. Vertical shaft impact crushers have the broadest operating range, as per the Rotor Velocity Scale below.
